We celebrated WBD today in our school. As always, it is a marvellous occasion for all our pupils. Well done to all who made the big effort to get dressed up as so many various characters from the worlds of fiction and non fiction. We were delighted to receive a visit from Gorey Library too. Thank you to Martina (Paddington Bear) for visiting our junior classes and talking all about literacy. In the midst of all the madness, our wonderful Parents’ Association organised, facilitated and sold books at our first ever Second Hand Book Sale. The Parents’ Association raised a whopping €1000 today, thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their free time to help man the stalls at the sale. These monies raised will be used to purchase new sets of big books, emergent reading material and classroom novels. The pupils loved sifting through all the various books and comics.
