On Friday, April 20th fifth and sixth class visited Wexford County Council and Wexford Arts Centre as part of ‘The Living Arts Project’ with John Busher. 2nd class have been busy constructing houses and homes from recyclable materials in Art over the last few weeks. We began this project to tie into our oral language theme. A look back on our Active School Week 2017!

Today we hosted a visit from Wexford Feíle in preparation for Feíle 2017. We had great fun displaying our skills, chatting to our Wexford and local Ballygarrett heroes.  Some representatives from the local GAA and Ladies GAA club called into visit along with our past pupils to help promote the Feíle. Well done to the members of Mr Nimmo’s Chess Club who represented the school in the All Wexford Chess Team Competition on 08/02/2017. The level of interest in chess within the school continues to grow and we were delighted to have two teams represent the school in both the junior and senior competitions. Thank you to Mr Nimmo for his hard work in teaching and organising chess within the school.  

We hosted Grandparents’ Day this year on February 1st, Lá Fhéile Bríde, in association with Catholic Schools’ Week! All our pupils and staff worked so hard in the previous days decorating the school and rehearsing songs, poems and dance.  All our pupils helped to generate a welcome atmosphere so all could celebrate the day with the  wider school community.
