St. Mary’s N.S. is delighted to be accepted for the “Picker Pals Programme.” This programme was founded by children’s author Patrick Jackson and is designed to help younger classes get involved in litter picking at weekends. The excitement begins when a “Picker Pack” made from old sails arrives to the school. The storybooks introduce the Picker Pack characters, songs and environmental activities. Taking it in turns, children take home the Picker Pack and lead their family on a litter-picking adventure in their local area. They have fun recounting their adventures to their classmates.
